The train trips from Interlaken to Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen are two of the most scenic and picturesque journeys we have taken in the Swiss Alps, offering us stunning views and easy access to some of Switzerland’s most iconic landscapes.

🇫🇷 P1 Our 3 Days in Marseille, France | Coastal Charm, Culture & Unexpected Beauty 🌊
Part 1 - We spent 3 days in Marseille, and it completely surprised us—in the best way. This city has such a raw, authentic energy. It’s not polished like Paris, but that’s exactly what makes it feel so real. From its gritty backstreets to sweeping sea views, Marseille is full of contrast, history, and heart.
Here’s what stood out during our trip:
🌅 Sunrise walks around the Old Port — fishing boats, market stalls, and the golden light on the water made every morning feel magical.
🎨 Le Panier was a favorite — narrow lanes, colorful street art, and quirky little shops that made getting lost part of the fun.
🏛️ Notre-Dame de la Garde gave us one of the best city views we’ve ever seen — 360° of sea, city, and mountains.
🚤 The boat trip to the Calanques was unreal. Jagged limestone cliffs, turquoise water, and a peaceful escape from the city vibe.
🍽️ And of course, the food! We tried the famous bouillabaisse (yes, it’s pricey — but worth it), loads of fresh seafood, and buttery pastries from local bakeries.
Marseille challenged our expectations. It’s not just a port stop—it’s a destination. If you’re visiting the south of France, don’t skip it.

Our Trip to Saint-Raphaël, France | Hidden Gem on the French Riviera 🌊🌴
We had no idea what to expect from Saint-Raphaël, but this quiet coastal town completely stole our hearts. Nestled between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, it’s often overlooked—but that’s exactly what makes it feel like a hidden gem on the Côte d’Azur.
Here’s what we loved most:
🚶♀️ Wandering the seaside promenade — calm mornings, fresh sea air, and the clearest blue water we’ve ever seen.
🏖️ Beautiful beaches without the crazy crowds — Plage du Veillat and the smaller coves along the coast were perfect for swimming and relaxing.
🚂 The train ride into town was so easy and scenic — a great stop if you’re traveling along the Riviera.
⛰️ Hiking the red cliffs of the Esterel Mountains — dramatic views over the Mediterranean, and hardly anyone else on the trail.
🍷 Laid-back cafés and local rosé — it’s the kind of place where time slows down and you just enjoy being there.
Saint-Raphaël had the perfect mix of beach, nature, and charm without the flashiness of some of the bigger Riviera towns. If you’re looking for something more relaxed and authentic, this is the spot.

Our Day in Saint-Tropez, France | Glamour, Charm & A Few Surprises ✨🌴
We finally made it to Saint-Tropez—and yes, it’s every bit as glamorous as you’ve heard… but also more laid-back and charming than we expected.
Before we arrived, we imagined mega-yachts, luxury boutiques, and overpriced cafés—and while those things do exist, what surprised us most was how beautiful and walkable the town actually is. It has a soft, sun-bleached vibe that made us want to stay longer than just a day.
Some of our favorite moments:
🚤 Arriving by bus was iconic— with pastel buildings and luxury yachts lining the waterfront felt surreal.
🌸 Wandering the old town — cobblestone alleys, colorful shutters, and bougainvillea everywhere. It felt more like a Provençal village than a celebrity hotspot.
🥐 Coffee and people-watching in Place des Lices, under the shade of the plane trees, was pure bliss.
🏖️ Relaxing at Plage des Graniers — yes, there are beach clubs, but there are also chill little coves if you know where to look.
🍽️ A surprisingly good (and not outrageously priced) lunch in a tucked-away bistro just off the main square — local rosé, fresh seafood, and friendly staff.

🇫🇷 Exploring Antibes, France | Coastal Charm, Markets & Old Town Magic 🏖️🍊
Antibes was one of those places that quietly crept into our hearts. Tucked between Nice and Cannes, it’s often overshadowed—but we’re so glad we made time for it. This town has the perfect mix of historic charm, seaside beauty, and a lived-in, local vibe that felt really refreshing.
What made Antibes special for us:
🏰 Strolling through the old town — winding stone alleys, colorful shutters, and the smell of fresh bread from hidden bakeries around every corner.
🧀 The Provençal market was a total highlight — fresh fruit, cheeses, spices, and local specialties we couldn’t resist.
🌊 Walking along the city walls at golden hour, with views of the sea crashing against the rocks and the Alps in the distance — pure magic.
🚤 Port Vauban and the Billionaires’ Quay gave us our yacht fix, but still felt less flashy than other Riviera ports.
🍷 And yes, we found an amazing little wine bar tucked into a backstreet that we’ll be dreaming about for a while.
Antibes felt authentic, calm, and effortlessly beautiful — like the kind of place you could actually live in, not just pass through. If you’re planning a trip to the Côte d’Azur, don’t skip it.

🇲🇨 A Day in Monaco | Glitz, Views & Unexpected Moments in the World’s Second Smallest Country 💫🚗
Well here we are in Monaco, and wow—it really is something else. A place where Ferraris casually cruise by, luxury is everywhere, and yet… we found ourselves drawn more to its stunning views and quiet corners than all the glam.
Even though Monaco is tiny, it packed in so many contrasts—from ultra-modern high-rises to winding old streets and peaceful gardens above the sea.
Here’s what stood out during our visit:
🏰 The old town of Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher) completely surprised us — charming alleyways, colorful buildings, and postcard views around every corner.
👑 The Prince’s Palace was grand but not over-the-top — and the views from the terrace were unreal.
🌊 The walk around Port Hercules gave us a front-row look at the yachts (and the lifestyle) that Monaco is known for.
🍃 The Exotic Garden and cliffside paths were a peaceful escape we didn’t expect in a place so known for its glamour.
🏎️ And of course, standing on parts of the famous Formula 1 track was surreal — especially with luxury cars zipping by in real life.
We came for the glitz… but stayed for the views, the history, and the feeling that there’s more to Monaco than meets the eye.

Menton, France | A Peaceful Escape on the French Riviera 🍋🌊 + The Cutest Little Train Ride! 🚂
Menton completely charmed us. Tucked right on the Italian border, this quiet seaside town felt like a breath of fresh air—colorful, calm, and effortlessly beautiful. It doesn’t have the crowds or glam of some other Riviera spots, and that’s exactly what made it one of our favorites.
Known as the “Pearl of France,” Menton blends French elegance with a hint of Italian warmth, and you feel it everywhere—from the food to the people to the architecture.
What we loved most:
🌈 Exploring the pastel old town with its winding staircases, hidden churches, and dreamy views over the rooftops.
🚂 Taking the tiny tourist train was such a fun way to see the town — from the seafront to the hilltop basilica, complete with audio commentary and a few laughs along the way.
🍋 Lemon everything! Menton’s famous citrus shows up in gelato, tarts, soaps, and even liqueurs—and yes, we tried them all.
⛪ The Basilica of Saint-Michel was a highlight — especially the panoramic view from the top.
🏖️ Chilling on the beach, with calm, clear water and locals enjoying their day made us feel like we’d found a true hidden gem.
🍝 Delicious food with an Italian twist — pasta, seafood, and fresh lemony desserts we’re still thinking about.
Menton is perfect for slowing down, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying a more peaceful side of the Côte d’Azur.

A Day in Èze, France | Hilltop Magic, Medieval Streets & Jaw-Dropping Views 🌿🏰
Èze is one of those places that feels straight out of a fairy tale. Perched high above the Mediterranean between Nice and Monaco, this tiny medieval village is packed with charm, history, and some of the most stunning views we’ve ever seen.
As soon as we arrived, we were swept away by the narrow stone alleys, ivy-covered walls, and the peaceful quiet—no cars, no crowds (if you time it right), just the sound of the wind and footsteps echoing through the old village.
Here’s what made Èze unforgettable for us:
🌺 Wandering through the ancient streets felt like walking through a movie set — every corner was postcard-perfect.
🌵 The Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique d’Èze) was the highlight — perched at the very top of the village with 360° views over the coast. Honestly, one of the best views we’ve ever had in the South of France.
🛍️ Tiny boutiques and art galleries tucked into old stone buildings made exploring feel like a treasure hunt.
🏰 The medieval atmosphere is still alive — from the fortress ruins to the quiet churches and archways.
🍋 A lemon tart with a sea view — because in Èze, even the snacks come with a view.
🚶♀️ We also loved the Nietzsche Path (though it’s steep!) — a hiking trail down to the sea with epic coastal scenery all the way.
Èze isn’t a place to rush. It’s a place to slow down, take in the views, and get lost in another time. If you’re visiting the French Riviera, this magical hilltop village is a must.

🚂 Train des Merveilles | France’s Most Scenic Train Ride into the Alps 🇫🇷🏞️
We had heard whispers about the Train des Merveilles, but nothing prepared us for just how beautiful this journey would be. Leaving from Nice and winding deep into the mountains near the Italian border, this 4-hour round trip through the Alpes-Maritimes became one of the most memorable days of our time in France.
It wasn’t just a train ride—it was an adventure through history, nature, and some of the most dramatic landscapes we’ve ever seen.
Here’s what we loved most about the experience:
🚞 The changing scenery — from palm trees in Nice to snow-capped peaks and medieval villages clinging to cliffs.
🎧 The free onboard commentary (in English and French) shared fascinating stories about ancient bridges, perched villages, and even Roman ruins along the route.
🌄 Viaducts, tunnels, and switchbacks — the engineering alone was jaw-dropping, and the views out the windows were next-level.
🏰 Stops like Breil-sur-Roya and Tende were full of character, with cobbled streets, quiet cafés, and alpine charm.
📸 So many photo ops — every bend in the track felt like a postcard.
We grabbed window seats, and just watched the landscape transform. It was peaceful, breathtaking, and felt like discovering a completely different side of the South of France.

Our Stay in Nice, France | Seaside Bliss, Old Town Vibes & Riviera Sunsets 🌊🌞
Nice completely won us over. We knew it would be beautiful, but what we didn’t expect was how laid-back, vibrant, and effortlessly cool it would feel.
As our base for exploring the French Riviera, Nice gave us the perfect balance — beach days, market strolls, old town charm, and stunning views, all within walking distance.
Some of our favorite moments in Nice:
🏖️ Mornings on the Promenade des Anglais — coffee in hand, the sea sparkling, and locals out walking or cycling. It never got old.
🏘️ Wandering through the Old Town (Vieux Nice) with its colorful buildings, lively squares, and endless gelato spots.
🧺 The Cours Saleya market was a total highlight — flowers, fruit, spices, and so many local treats (hello, socca!).
⛰️ Climbing Castle Hill (Colline du Château) for panoramic views over the bay — easily one of the best viewpoints on the Riviera.
🍷 Sunset apéritifs at a rooftop bar, watching the light change over the sea while sipping rosé felt like peak Nice.
Nice was the perfect mix of culture, coastal beauty, and relaxed Riviera energy. Whether you want to explore or just unwind, it really has something for everyone.

🏰 Exploring Shrewsbury, England | Tudor Streets, River Walks & Timeless Charm 🇬🇧🌿
Shrewsbury turned out to be one of the loveliest surprises of our trip. Tucked just near the Welsh border, this historic market town is full of character — half-timbered buildings, winding alleys, and so much quiet charm.
It felt like stepping into a medieval storybook — but with great coffee and riverside walks and boat trips.
Here’s what we loved about our time in Shrewsbury:
🏘️ The black-and-white Tudor buildings everywhere — it felt like every street was a piece of living history.
🚶♀️ Wandering through the Shuts and passages — the little cut-throughs between buildings gave us a glimpse into how the town once lived and moved.
🌉 Walking along the River Severn, with peaceful views and ducks paddling by — such a nice break from city noise.
🌺 The Dingle in the Quarry Park was a total surprise — beautifully landscaped gardens right in the middle of town.
📚 Discovering the birthplace of Charles Darwin and seeing where he grew up gave the town an unexpected connection to the wider world.
🥧 And of course, we had to try local pies and a proper cream tea in one of the cosy tea rooms!
Shrewsbury felt quiet and welcoming, full of hidden corners and stories just waiting to be uncovered. It’s the kind of place you could explore for a day or stay for a week — and we’re so glad we got to experience it.

🚆 Shrewsbury to Conwy by Train | A Scenic Journey into North Wales 🇬🇧🏞️
This train trip from Shrewsbury to Conwy turned out to be so much more than just getting from A to B — it was a beautiful, relaxing way to see the changing landscapes of England and Wales unfold right outside our window.
We started in the charming market town of Shrewsbury and slowly rolled our way through lush countryside, rolling hills, and sleepy Welsh villages, all the way to the dramatic North Wales coast. It was the kind of journey where we didn’t want to put the camera down (or our tea cups, to be honest!).

🏰 Conwy, Wales | A Medieval Gem on the Coast | Castle Views & Cobblestone Charm 🇬🇧
Our time in Conwy was like stepping back in time — but with sea air and fresh Welsh cakes! Tucked along the stunning North Wales coastline, this little town is packed with history, charm, and jaw-dropping views everywhere you look.
It was one of those places that felt instantly magical — walled streets, a fairytale castle, and a harbour full of boats bobbing gently in the tide.
Here’s what we loved most about our stay in Conwy:
🏰 Conwy Castle completely took our breath away — the towers, the views, the sheer scale of it. Exploring the ruins felt like walking through a legend.
🧱 Walking the town walls gave us the best views over the rooftops, the estuary, and the surrounding hills.
🎣 Strolling along the harbour, watching the boats and breathing in that fresh sea air, was the perfect way to slow down.
🏠 We popped into Britain’s smallest house — it’s tiny, quirky, and somehow still cosy!
🧁 And of course, we couldn’t leave without enjoying local Welsh treats, from bara brith to warm scones with jam and cream.
